| I haven't been here in a while. Not sure why but I just fell out of the habit I guess. Lost interest or moved on to something new. So easy to do the same with God. Things that make us strong become common, and lose their glamour. It is good to look back here, in my journal and those parts I underlined in my Bible. Reminds me of where I have been, hoped to get to, and still need to work on. God is patient, even with us pastors. | | |
| “…the law of exposure: Your mind will think most about what it is most exposed to. What repeatedly enters your mind occupies you mind, eventually shapes your mind, and will ultimately express itself in what you do and who you become." (Ortberg, John. If You Want To Walk On Water You’ve Got To Get Out Of The Boat. Grand Rapids, Michigan. Zondervan, 2001. page 162). | | |
| My day, or should I say Monday. So good to hide, sleep and rest. A message, a Sunday school class and Bolivia training is enough to wipe me out. I love my people but they sure do leave me wasted. I will happily do it again next week. | | |
| "Only a child can jump upon the lap of God without fear or guilt. Jesus said '...the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.' (Matthew 19:14) the remainder of our lives seems an arduous struggle to return to that place where we can release ourselves unreservedly into his embrace." ~Robert Logan~ Why do I find it so hard to let go? | | |
| I rise and wonder what the day holds. There is nothing to fear but there is apprehension of what awaits. There will be some laughter but will there be harsh words spoken? Will I be the speaker? There will some anticipation of some joy but is trouble lurking up ahead. Will I be ready in my heart to stand up to it and take it on? There will be many safe and comfortable things that await but what of the painful and unknown aspects that are ahead? Will I have strength? Then remember that beside me is ONE who will stand closer than any other. Wisdom is promised for the asking, strength for the day and comfort where it is need. The day looks less terrifying with HIM close by. | | |
